Rainbow is an initiative of Ekalavya Ashram in coordination with the heads of all religions in Kerala who were agonized by the growing distrust between religions.
Every religion proclaims love as its philosophy. This group of human lovers decided that they should do something to bring religious harmony; if not the religions, at least the devotees who believed that God is love and that the world is one family. The result was the formation of RAINBOW. Rainbow has seven different colours, and they have their own identity to keep. But all these colours stand together to make the most beautiful phenomenon in the world.
RAINBOW decided to conduct all religious prayer meeting every year to establish peace and harmony among religions. Dec 26, the Tsunami day, was selected for this purpose. It was decided that people belonging to different religions should come together and make a prayer together on the tsunami day every year each religion praying in its own way. This prayer meeting should proclaim to the world that there is only one God. Thus, the first Rainbow meeting was on 26th December, 2006.
